A Long Weekend in Birmingham

Last weekend I revisited Birmingham after a good few years away. Some of my earliest posts feature eco-friendly and vegan discoveries in the city, from the final year of my undergrad. Best Shop: La MC Vintage

Ok, I might be biased because I love a good vintage shop, but if you’re visiting Birmingham in any capacity, try to make time to pop into La MC Vintage! This vintage store is nestled within North Western Arcade and is home to the best selection of vintage clothes I’ve found in Birmingham. The owner pays close attention to the composition of the garments on sale, with a lot of 100% cashmere jumpers and vintage leather jackets in great condition. Prices are very reasonable – jeans are around £30, leather jackets range from £60-£95. I picked up a pure linen shirt for £16, as well as a cashmere jumper (with a minor repair) for £6.

Considering the polishes are all cruelty-free and vegan, it fits with my own beauty ethos, and it makes the list!

Best Restaurant: Land

Finally, my newest restaurant recommendation has to be Land. This plant-focused restaurant has picked up a number of recommendations and awards and for good reason. I love seeing eco-friendly and seasonal dining doing well and Land is definitely doing it well in Birmingham.
