Party Season Styling With Very | Ad

The holidays are almost upon us, and I’m excited to be going into it celebrating! I don’t think I have ever worked or studied as hard as I have done this year. So, as the old saying goes, work hard, play hard! And to do just that, I’ve teamed up with Very.co.uk to share my favourite party season looks, including an upcycled DIY that anyone can do… Scroll on down for more!

Outfit #1: Black Mini Dress and Faux-Fur Jacket

Outfit details: Nobody’s Child Hayley Dress in Black, Swedish Stockings Doris Dot Tights, Jonak Mary Jane Heels, DIY Bow Earrings, Monsoon Farah Faux Fur Jacket.

True to the core of my wardrobe (and maybe, my soul?) this outfit is almost all black. I love wearing black – it’s chic, striking, and can work for any occasion. However, as with any monochromatic outfit, textures are key. I’ve paired this beautifully soft faux fur coat with a corduroy mini dress, polka-dot tights, and my favourite patent leather Mary-Jane heels. Each fabric brings something different to the outfit, and I especially like the playfulness of the tights.

In addition to the textures, to make the outfit truly pop, I broke out my DIY bow earrings, inspired by Simone Rocha. I made these back in 2023 and have worn them around this time every year since then! These feature two bright red bows that say ‘Christmas’ without being too much, and honestly, even if you’re not very crafty, they’re easy to make. Not only is this outfit cute, it’s cosy. Perfect for a wintry Saturday night out!

Outfit #2: The Leopard Print Midi Dress

Outfit details: Albaray Animal Satin Tulip Dress, Vetements Sling-Back Heels, Monarc Jewellery Freddie Ball Hoop Earrings, Monsoon Farah Faux Fur Jacket.

I love a little animal print, and this satin tulip dress from Albaray really does the most! I feel like this outfit sits somewhere between mob wife and Prime Minister (outside No. 10, no less!) which tracks well with my Law degree… on both sides of the coin! I’ve paired it again with my black faux fur jacket, which sits at just the right point on my waist.

If you’re thinking about investing in a faux fur jacket, my best recommendation is to choose one that matches your ideal silhouette. Personally, I like to be cinched at the waist, and create a sort of hourglass shape despite not being a natural hourglass. This jacket helps to emulate that with bold shoulders and finishing at my waist. However, depending on your preferred silhouette, a shorter bolero-style version could work well, or a longer style if you’d like a slender, Hailey Beiber-style look.

And, if leopard print is a little too loud, Very has a great selection of black midi dresses that would pair just as well with a faux-fur jacket! You know how much I love wearing black… But I do love this dress as a loud contrast to my usual style!

How are you styling yourself this season? Let me know below!
