The Sardinia Edit

I’m back from a week away in Sardinia with my best friend. As a Pisces, Sardinia was everything I love: sun, sea, and so much swimming. We spent the days on beaches and boats, and the nights eating glorious Italian food at restaurants dotted along the coastline. Here’s what I wore while away, featuring well-worn summer favourites and new pieces from independent designers at Wolf & Badger*. Oh and did I mention – these all fit into a single carry-on suitcase!

What To Wear In Sardinia: 5 Outfits

Head-To-Toe Butter Yellow Outfit

Head-To-Toe Butter Yellow

The first time I wore this outfit, my partner said ‘You look like a ray of sunshine!’ I really do feel like one when I wear it. The playful colour is pushed a little further by the whimsical Crab Charm by Smilla Brav, a sustainable jewellery brand hailing from Germany, which I like to adorn on my Monica Vinader keshi pearl necklace.

For the outfit itself, I’m simply wearing a yellow cotton t-shirt from Theory and yellow silk Arket dress, both sourced from Thrift+. I almost sold this dress on Vinted earlier this year and I’m so glad I didn’t – it’s been a joy to rewear this summer!

For accessories, I’m holding the Frousse Clutch by Zanatany Concepts* (gifted), a sustainable raffia bag brand based in Madagascar, and my well-worn A. Emery sandals*.

The Black Linen Holiday Dress

I love wearing black – it’s definitely the most popular colour in my wardrobe. Black, on holiday though? Groundbreaking. I actually only brought a few black pieces to wear while away in Sardinia, and this second-hand Isabel Marant dress was given to me by my best friend after realising it was more my style. I’m really thankful to her for it! It fits beautifully, cinching at the waist, while still being fun and flirty with the flowery edging.

To stay on-theme with Sardinia, I paired it with my Fishy Fish Necklace*, also by Smilla Brav (gifted). I love the length and movement of this necklace, making the outfit more playful. My only reservation is that I would love for this necklace to be real gold – I may have to have it plated.

As we were travelling with just our carry-on suitcases, I’m re-wearing the Frousse Clutch*, and my A. Emery sandals*.

A Simple Silk Dress & Shirt

This outfit you’ll definitely have seen before – it’s my go-to for the summer months. You’ll also notice a theme with my material choices – everything is 100% silk, linen, or cotton, and for good reason. As natural materials, these are more breathable, and often better quality too.

My silk dress is from MOYE, a Polish designer I found on Wolf & Badger a good five years ago, while my shirt is from Boden, found second-hand in a Brighton charity-shop. The sunglasses are an old favourite from Jimmy Fairly*.

I’m also wearing my well-travelled Longchamp Le Pliage bag*, also bought second-hand. As someone who had her style awakening in Paris, I will always think of Le Pliage as a travel essential. Every year I get tempted to buy a different beach bag or bucket bag, and realise nothing will surpass Le Pliage. She’s foldable, waterproof, and sits on-top of my carry-on suitcase perfectly.

The Show-stopping Red Floral Skirt

My favourite outfit that I wore in Sardinia had to be my show-stopping red floral skirt, aka The Tuscany Skirt by Luum* (gifted). I was so taken with the pattern and shape of this skirt that I knew it would be the perfect piece to take on holiday, and paired with my white Ninety Percent top and white sandals, it really does pop.

The skirt is fully lined, and made from 80% rayon, 20% polyamide, meaning it’s a little warmer than pure silk or linen. Size-wise, I’m a size 10 with a 29″ waist, and fit a size small.

To complete the outfit, I re-wore my Frousse Clutch* and Fishy Fish Necklace*.

My Favourite Beach Sarong

Finally, a glimpse of what I wore on the beach! This 100% organic cotton Blue Nude sarong* travelled with me to Greece last year, and will likely come on all beach holidays with me for years to come. I have a few different sustainable swimwear options, ranging from a years-old bikini to my Revivre Swim one-piece, and all of them get worn with this sarong. I love how the fabric starts a deep sea blue and fades to a sky blue, and when worn as a dress, looks more like colour blocking.

Which is your favourite summer outfit? If you’re travelling – don’t forget to roll your clothes for more room!
