Notting Hill is well-known for its second-hand and vintage scene. Portobello Road Market has everything, from cheap vintage costume jewellery with stand-out designer pieces, just like this Vivienne Westwood mini-dress I spotted on my last visit. It’s why I wanted to share a guide to some of the best places to shop second-hand in Notting Hill, because there’s such a great mix for everyone. Here’s a walking trail from North Kensington to Notting Hill Gate, plus extras at the end…
The Best Second-Hand & Vintage Stores in Notting Hill
While thrifting has become more democratised over the years, Notting Hill has remained a brilliant place to shop for second-hand and vintage due to stores being located in such an affluent part of London. I’ve been second-hand shopping for decades and love to plan a day out by pinning locations onto Maps and dotting from shop to shop. Here’s a few favourites from our last visit to Notting Hill – from age-old institutions to new pop-ups!
Rellik
8 Golborne Road, London W10 5NW

We started our day of thrifting at Rellik London, a contemporary boutique that’s got great lighting and hundreds of pieces. I actually wish we headed to Rellik later on in our day because it is bursting at the seams with incredible pieces, and it felt a bit overwhelming as our first stop. The quality of the clothes and jewellery here is high, and the price tags match (think £400-£600). If you’re going to head to Rellik, I recommend scouting their website first for some finds you’re really keen on, as it’s serious shopping here!

Vestige
The Lodge, 28 Golborne Road, London W10 5PF

Vestige, while sneakily called ‘vintage clothing’ on Google Maps, is a gem of a store. Stocking everything from traditional period costume to acid-bright Moschino, it’s like a fun jumble sale of gems. The mens suiting here is particularly strong, and the pricing is reasonable.

Reviva
90 Golborne Road, London W10 5PS

A quick walk across the railway tracks and you’ll find yourself on Golborne Road, Portobello Road’s little sister. Here we stumbled into a few vintage furniture stores, as well as Reviva, a second-hand fashion boutique. The clothes here are much more contemporary, while being very reasonably priced. There’s everything from Adidas to Yves Saint Laurent. It’s worth a look in if you’re open to more modern clothes, shoes and accessories, with friendly staff too.

Found and Vision
318 Portobello Road, London W10 5RU

Found and Vision has to be my favourite vintage store in Notting Hill. You ring the bell, and are buzzed into vintage heaven. Founded in 2012, it is a must-visit, with so many special pieces, from designer clothes through to rare items. And they’re all displayed ever so beautifully. Prices are high, but justified. There’s also rental options – check their website for more.

282 Portobello
282 Portobello Road, London W10 5TE

Walking along Portobello Road, we hopped from stall to stall until we spotted 282. These vintage sartorial specialists have curated an incredible collection of vintage suiting, macs, raincoats, silk scarves and more. Think Aquascutum, Barbour, Burberry… Prices are quite high, but to be expected. With the traditional surrounds comes a more traditional sales technique, which I don’t mind but can be a little much if you’re shy.

The Vintage Market at Portobello Market
Portobello Road, London, W11 1AN | Open Fri, Sat, Sun

I love a good market but was blown away by the incredible pieces and sheer volume of vintage stalls at the vintage clothes market at Portobello Market. The stalls have everything – cowboy boots to shoulder bags, designer tracksuits to vintage silk nightgowns. Unlike the usual 10-20 minutes you may spend in individual shops, I would recommend dedicating an hour or more to the market alone. We spent a lot of our time at Cache and Menace, and I picked up a crochet beach cover-up from Terrawearr_. The vintage market takes place every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Studio Solaris
281 Portobello Green Arcarde, Portobello Road, London W10 5TZ

Our final stop (before we dropped) was Studio Solaris. We spied the shop while wandering around the market, and its colourful window drew us in. Inside, you’ll find handpicked designer pieces in summer shades, with matching sunglasses in the case. Quality varied and prices were mid to high, but if you find that one perfect item, it’ll be worth it.

Want More? Here’s What We Missed…
In addition to these spots, there were a few places we just didn’t get time to visit during our day out. Here’s a few additional stores to add into the mix when you go thrifting!
One Vintage: High quality, high end pieces from the past.
Pepper Tree: Traditional vintage fashion store in the heart of Portobello.
House of Retro: Colourful clothes from eras gone by, think bold prints and polka dots.
Vault Vintage: Fashion boutique with beautifully displayed designer and rare pieces.
