Skin Regimen Lx, Reviewed

It’s time for another skincare review! This time I’ve been trialling Skin Regimen Lx, a premium sustainable skincare range from the cosmetic house that brought us Comfort Zone and Davines Haircare. It’s been just over three months since I put these products on my beauty shelf, so let me share my review with you – and tell you if they’re worth the spend!

Who Is Skin Regimen Lx?

Skin Regimen Lx is a new premium skincare range launched by Davines Group in early 2025. The brand sits on the Comfort Zone website, as a premium offering to the standard range. It seems to be the next step for those of us who may have outgrown Comfort Zone – this range focuses on taking care of our skin for the long-term, with more mature models featured. Now I’m in my early 30s, this speaks to me!

I will preface this review by saying that I love Comfort Zone skincare: the Sublime Skin and Sun Soul ranges are both high quality, well-priced cruelty-free and sustainably-made skincare. Their Defence Fluid SPF featured in my best skincare products of 2024. I appreciate their supply-chain transparency, and their efforts to create refillable beauty options too.

However, I do prefer the look and feel of the Skin Regimen Lx range: the packaging is now metal and glass, rather than plastic. The black packaging and serif typeface are bolder and more grown-up. But the question remains: is it worth the additional investment?

Skin Regimen Lx products range from £45 – £90 each (with the exception of the Gua Sha accessory). Comfort Zone products are £30 – £100 each, with most retailing for less than £50. Are they worth it? Let me walk you through the range, with my individual product reviews below.

Detox Cleanser

The Detox Cleanser from Skin Regimen Lx is a gentle cream cleanser that promises to leave you with radiant skin. I have sensitive, dehydrated skin, and I suffer with mild rosacea too, so I need a gentle cleanser. This one lives up to its promises, effectively removing makeup and cleaning my skin without causing any drying or redness.

I will say for the price point – £36 – it’s a good introduction to the range, and it is generously sized too.

Skin Regimen Lx HA 4 Jelly Serum

HA 4 Jelly Serum

Next, the HA 4 Jelly Serum. Hyaluronic acid is an essential in my skincare routine, and I prefer it as a serum so that I can apply a good amount too. This jelly serum provides that much-needed hydration, leaving my skin plump and happy.

However, one thing I didn’t particularly like about this serum was the combination of the the jelly consistency and the dropper to apply it. This actually made it a little messy, and if I’m honest, I found myself wanting to revert back to my standard HA Serum from The Ordinary, which retails for 10% of the price…

Tripeptide Gel Cream

With my dehydrated skin, I usually avoid gel creams, as these tend to be a little too light for my skin. However, the Skin Regimen Lx Tripeptide Gel Cream strikes the perfect balance – hydrating and lightweight in equal measure. It sinks in quickly and leaves my skin soft and glowy, without any tackiness.

While the product itself is great, I will say I do have a reservations at how it is marketed. As a skincare range (assumedly) aimed at women aged 35+, I really don’t appreciate that this product is touted as ‘anti-aging’. I am always put-off by any product that promises anti-aging – it’s time beauty brands stop making us feel bad about the natural aging process.

Skin Regimen Lx Urban Shield SPF 30

Urban Shield SPF 30

Onto one of my favourite products in the Skin Regimen Lx range – the Urban Shield SPF30. I wear facial sunscreen daily (and have done for years), and this is one of my favourites. It has a light, fluid consistency that makes it easy to apply and quickly spread across the face.

This sunscreen absorbs well, and once sunk in, is very lightly tacky, which is the mark of a high quality product. It ranks closely with my favourite SPF of all time – Medik8’s Advanced Day Ultimate Protect SPF 50.

Multi Acid Ampoules

Continuing on from my anti-anti-aging statement, Skin Regimen Lx’s Multi Acid Ampoules promise similar effects if used over 14 days. I made the conscious decision to trial these without the hope of de-aging, but instead, with the hope of gaining smoother, more even skin. How did they perform?

Honestly, I didn’t think my skin was much improved, but it was happy, hydrated, and glowy. Did it reduce my redness? Not that I could tell. Has it been better since? Again, not that I could tell. However I don’t think I’ve ever found a product that really achieves more than my regular skincare routine does – and I do have a pretty intense skincare routine that I’ve followed for years now. Perhaps I would see different results if my skin was a different type or older. But perhaps it’s worth investing in these ahead of a special occasion – and investing in a great skincare routine for everyday, too!

Skin Regimen Lx Vitamin C Serum and Retinol Serum

Retinol Serum

Finally, my absolute favourite product from the Skin Regimen Lx range has to be their Retinol Serum. I don’t tend to trust retinol products that don’t give an indication of strength, however I was pleasantly surprised at the strength and effectiveness of this serum. It was a step up from Medik8’s Retinal 6, which I (admittedly) found to be a little too tame after a few years of using retinol products. I would go so far as to say this is the closest I’ve come to a medical-grade retinol. If you’ve been using retinol for a good while and are looking to step up, this is the one to try.

My Overall Rating of Skin Regimen Lx: 7/10

Overall, I was pleased with Skin Regmimen Lx’s range. The products are effective, combining science and sustainably-sourced ingredients, to produce a grown-up range. However, Comfort Zone already sets the bar pretty high, and I’m not sure the additional investment in these products is worth it. If I was to re-buy products from the range, I would go for the Retinol Serum and Urban Shield SPF 30.

I also hope in writing this that the brand can take on-board my issues with posing products as anti-aging. At 32, I feel like I am going to now spend decades buying products that promise they will reverse the aging process, which is firstly impossible, and secondly, not something I aspire to do. Talk to me about aging skin. Show me mature models. But let me grow old gracefully please.
