Who Is The Green Co.?
The Green Co. is an independent, UK-based cleaning brand which was founded in 2018 by a group of 16-year-old students who struggled to find alternatives to single use plastic products. (It reminds me of my days running a Young Enterprise company!) In 2020, Co-Founders Emilio and Kieran took The Green Co. online while at University, and today the business has grown to serve more than 100,000 people from 150 countries.
I particularly like The Green Co. because they’ve focused their efforts in two highly wasteful areas – laundry detergent, and home cleaning products. Traditional cleaning products use harsh chemicals and come in liquid form, despite being mainly water. Just like waterless beauty products revolutionised cosmetics back in 2021, The Green Co. is mixing up the cleaning industry by providing waterless cleaning alternatives. This saves on carbon impact, being smaller, lighter, and just as effective. Their GreenSheets™ and GreenTabs™ are also non-toxic, and come in plastic-free packaging. And in the home, they’re a lot easier to store too!
Finally, I have to mention that The Green Co. also hosts it’s on Green For Good Initiative, helping to fund social giving programmes in the UK and abroad, giving back to those in need. Amazing work.
What Products Does The Green Co. Make?
The Green Co. specialises in waterless cleaning products for clothes and the home. Their two product offerings are GreenSheets™, eco-friendly laundry detergent and fabric conditioner sheets, and GreenTabs™, cleaning tablets that mix with water to become cleaning sprays for the whole home.
GreenSheets™ Eco Laundry Detergent
The Green Co.’s GreenSheets™ have revolutionised how I wash my clothes. While buying laundry detergent is usually a chore – picture me lugging a big bottle home from the supermarket every few weeks – these lightweight laundry detergent sheets are delivered direct to my door. Without all the water that regular detergent is mixed with, these powerful sheets are lightweight and non-bio, coming in three scents: Fresh Linen, Lavender, and Unfragranced.
For a regular load of washing, I only need to use one sheet. The sheets are fully biodegradable, disappearing in the wash, while leaving me with fresh, beautifully-scented clothing.
