Updating My Bedroom With Panda London | Ad

Sleep is one of my favourite pastimes. Is there anything better than snuggling up under the covers after a long day? It’s why I care a lot about investing in the right bedding. As with all my homewares, I like to strike a balance between style, comfort, and sustainability. And the new Signature+ Bamboo Lyocell Bedding by Panda London ticks all three boxes. Here’s how I’ve been getting on road-testing their new bamboo bedding, covering The Cloud Duvet, Hybrid Bamboo Pillows, and Bamboo Bedding.

6 Reasons To Choose Bamboo Bedding

Bamboo lyocell is one of the most beautiful textiles. It feels so similar to silk, without the harm in producing it. I’ve previously touted bamboo as one of my favourite sustainable fabrics, and broken down the different types of bamboo fabrics in my guide to bamboo clothing. In my opinion, bamboo lyocell is the best quality (compared to bamboo rayon and bamboo viscose) as it’s softer and more uniform. Put simply: it makes for the perfect bedding!

Panda London recently released their new Signature+ Bamboo Lyocell Bedding, and I was eager to try it. Alongside being super soft, there’s plenty of reasons to choose bamboo bedding:

  • Bamboo bedding is breathable, hypoallergenic, and naturally anti-bacterial
  • Bamboo is organically grown and is one of the world’s fastest growing crops
  • Panda London’s bedding is made with non-toxic chemicals and sustainably manufactured using a closed-loop system
  • The Signature+ Bamboo Bedding provides natural temperature control as it is moisture-wicking
  • Bamboo bedding can be more odour-resistant than other fabrics, making it last longer between washes
  • And just like silk pillowcases, bamboo pillowcases are anti-static, preventing hair breakage and tangles.

Panda London Bedding, Reviewed

Here are my thoughts on Panda London’s new Signature+ Bedding Set, as well as The Cloud Duvet, and Hybrid Pillows. I was invited to write a review on the Signature+ Bedding Set, but was happily surprised at how great the other products were that I also wanted to share my thoughts on them here.

Signature+ Bamboo Lyocell Bedding: 9/10

Panda London’s new Signature+ Bamboo Lyocell Complete Bedding Set comes complete with a fitted sheet, duvet cover, and pillowcases. We have a king size bed, and found this set fits our bed perfectly. I went for the cream set, over the forest green. I actually think forest green would also suit our bedroom, but you know me – I like neutrals!

In my guide to sustainable bedding, you’ll see that I’ve tried lots of different types of eco-friendly options for my bed, with mixed results. One of the main things that attracted me to Panda London’s bamboo lyocell bedding was its silky softness, which I can attest to having slept a few weeks in these sheets now!

I can also happily say that bamboo lyocell is a great vegan alternative to silk. I actually think I prefer the feeling of these pillowcases over silk ones too. Silk pillows tend to leave my hair full of static, whereas bamboo keeps it soft and silky!

The one point deduction I’ve given to this bedding is due to it being slightly transparent. I actually think this makes it look lovely over white duvets and pillows, but could be an issue if you have anything different!

Hybrid Bamboo Pillows: 10/10

Next, let’s talk about Panda London’s Hybrid Bamboo Pillows. These are the top-of-the-line pillows that Panda offers, and I can see why! I am very picky when it comes to pillows, and both my partner and I found these to be the most comfortable we’ve tried. We both have different sleeping styles – I lie on my back, while he lies on his side – and we both took to these pillows from day one. They’re just the right height, they comfortably cushion the head, and they leave me with no neck or shoulder aches.

These pillows are made with a combination of orthopaedic-grade memory foam with a soft bamboo outer, and they are built to last. In fact, they come with a 10-year guarantee, promising that the pillow will stay supportive and free from faults for 10 years! Considering the average mattress lasts just 8 years, that’s impressive.

The Cloud Duvet: 10/10

Finally, I have to say I am absolutely in love with The Cloud Duvet. This may actually be my favourite product out of the lot – it feels highly luxurious, and very similar to a duck-down duvet, without the cruelty. It’s light enough to easily make the bed – even in the king size – but padded and heavy enough to feel cosy in as soon as you get into bed.

And, bamboo is naturally hypoallergenic. In simple terms, this means the bedding and duvet will help reduce the effects of common allergies such as eczema and hay fever. It also promises to fend off bacteria and dust mites. I suffer with hay fever, and have sinus issues to complicate matters further, so this was a big draw. Having consistently slept in this bedding and duvet since it arrived, I have to say I have been sneezing less, and the bed still feels fresh even after 10+ days of sleeping in it.

My Overall Rating: 10/10

My new bedding from Panda London has absolutely upgraded our bedroom! Not only do we have a more beautiful bed, it’s also softer, silkier, and cosier than before. I feel like this bedding is a healthier choice for me, especially during hay fever season, and it’s great to know it’s made sustainably too.

If you’re looking for an eco-friendly alternative to silk bedding, or would simply like a more luxurious sleep, I have to absolutely recommend Panda London’s range!
