The Ethical Mother’s Day Gift Guide

Mother’s Day has often twinned with my birthday (the first weekend in March), but this year it lands squarely on the 19th March. It gives all us procrastinating children an extra week to plan and order the perfect Mother’s Day gifts, as well as a bit of breathing space for my 30th birthday celebrations (I’ll be honest, kid me was not happy to share the day, but honestly I like the idea more and more as I get older).

I like to give gifts that I know the recipient will truly love, and I know all of our mums are different. For my boyfriend’s mum, I’m sending her this special edition Burt’s Bees Lip Balm* and Beehive Necklace (gifted), as she truly is one with the bees. Her garden has bee hotels, bee-friendly plants, and even a little bee’s nest (!) so it’s the perfect gift, as this collaboration not only celebrates bees, but it also supports The Bee Friendly Trust.

For my mum? I won’t ruin the surprise here, but it’s in amongst the gift guide below! I hope you enjoy these suggestions and however you celebrate Mother’s Day, you can celebrate maternal love in style.

Mother’s Day Gifts On A Budget

Burt’s Bees Lip Balm* £5, JulieMay Organic Cotton & Silk Underwear* from £25, Handmade Ceramic Cup* £26 and Personalised Egg Cup* £15, Peper Harow Bed Socks £14, Tony’s Chocolonely Chocolate* £4, Women’s Circle Greeting Card* £4, The Body Shop White Musk Eau de Toilette* from £18

If you’re working to save money like I am this year, choosing a budget gift that doesn’t sacrifice on style and ethics is key! Here are nine gifts all coming in under £30. Personally, I love The Body Shop’s White Musk, a classic scent that’s had a cruelty-free update, as well as Peper Harow’s bed socks (I can’t sleep without mine!), or a good old bar of Tony’s chocolate.
