The Conscious Jewellery Edit with Pearls & Pomegranates | Ad

Jewellery is one of my favourite ways to express my style and share stories of beautiful moments. From the bespoke gold key necklace my parents gave to me on my 18th birthday, to the dainty anklet my boyfriend gifted on our last holiday… My jewellery collection holds some of my most special memories. I share this same passion for capturing beautiful moments in jewellery with Pearls & Pomegranates, a new jewellery marketplace dedicated to handmade, sustainable jewellery.

Their selection of conscious pieces weaves together the work of independent makers and their sustainable materials with future stories to be made as you wear and love their designs. It’s why I’m so pleased to be bringing you this conscious jewellery edit, to share some of their sustainable stories, and invite you to create new chapters when wearing them…

Introducing Pearls & Pomegranates

Pearls & Pomegranates was founded by Natalia Kübler, whose vision has been to connect high quality craftsmanship with excellent customer service and sustainability. As a platform, they partner with passionate jewellers and jewellery designers across the UK, whose designs and bespoke services are available to purchase through Pearls & Pomegranates.

Jewellery has the capacity to tell a story with each wearer, and it’s something that the Pearls & Pomegranates team has recognised too. Their mission is to connect people with jewellers who can create timeless heirlooms from sustainable metals and gemstones, and in turn, can be worn and treasured forever. It’s why they choose to work with conscious jewellery makers, who craft slowly, using ethically-sourced, recycled, or reclaimed materials. Each of them share at least one of the Pearls & Pomegranates’ mission pillars.

Finally, Pearls & Pomegranates makes their own environmental and social commitments through their charitable work. For every item purchased, they conserve 20 square metres of Colombian rainforest in partnership with Bioconservancy. Having recently visited the South American rainforest and Andes Mountains in Argentina, I can certainly attest to the need to conserve such a beautiful yet sadly dwindling area of natural beauty.

Whether you’re looking for a gift, a significant ring, or something in-between, I thoroughly recommend searching through the jewellers and jewellery on Pearls & Pomegranates.

Conscious, Handmade Jewellery

Pearls & Pomegranates is home to a number of my favourite sustainable jewellery makers, including April March, a Brighton-based brand founded by Sarah Brannagan, whose work I’ve followed for a few years. It was a delight to discover her collection on the site, and showcase this pair of handmade textured gold hoop earrings. Made with recycled sterling silver, and fair mined gold vermeil plating, they show how recycled and fairly-sourced metals can work well together. The design is also just so beautiful, with a unique finish that celebrates imperfect, organic shapes and highlights the earrings’ handmade origins.

For my mini Pearls & Pomegranates jewellery edit, I’ve curated a few pieces from the April March collection, as well as an incredible vessel pendant from Ara the altar, another sustainable jewellery brand I’ve had my eye on for a while. Created by Lauren King, the Ara the altar collection celebrates the unique, organic aesthetic of the Earth while using 100% recycled metals.

Alongside these are new discoveries from Feathers + Wings, a collection by metalsmith and maker Jane Bannor, and Valnerina, a whimsical collection of made-to-order pieces handcrafted with recycled sterling silver.

The Pearls & Pomegranates marketplace is so good for finding new and exclusive sustainable jewellery, and you can also shop your values with them. Check out their collections of vegan jewellery, made to order, fair trade, recycled materials, and more on the site.
