Set between the storied Covent Garden, and opulent Royal Opera House, lies the Bucherer boutique. For the uninitiated, Bucherer is one of the most distinguished watch and jewellery retailers in Europe. Showcasing fine jewellery, luxury watches, and pre-owned pieces, it is one of the most exquisite jewellers I have had the pleasure to visit. And with its London store now back open, I went along to discover their new Love Collection for Valentine’s Day.
The Bucherer Story
Established in 1888, the Bucherer business began when merchant Carl Friedrich Bucherer and his wife opened the first specialist watch and jewellery store in Lucerne, Switzerland.
Today, Bucherer has continued its local production at its atelier in Lucerne, Switzerland, while serving stores across Austria, Denmark, France, Germany, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States. At their atelier, they employ traditional jewellery making techniques and work with expert designers, goldsmiths, gemologists, and polishers. They offer their own watch creations and exquisite jewellery collections alongside an exclusive range of watches from some of the world’s most prestigious brands, including Cartier, Longines, and Rolex.
More recently, Bucherer launched its Certified Pre-Owned collection of men’s and women’s watches, sourcing rare and sought-after vintage pieces that I couldn’t wait to see for myself.
Enamoured With The Love Collection
The collection that truly captured my heart on my recent visit to Bucherer’s Covent Garden store was the Love Collection. Gazing in the shop window, I was greeted by an exquisite 18k solitaire diamond ring set beautifully in white gold, destined for a grand romantic gesture.
Each piece, in fact, could create a very special moment. From the diamond studs to the delicately placed necklaces, there will be a perfect person, couple, place, and purpose. For fine jewellery gifting, there truly is no need to look further.
That being said, I’m always taken with beautiful, minimal pieces. If you prefer brighter and bolder designs, Bucherer’s Peekaboo and Pastello collections are worth reviewing. In the Peekaboo collection, rare, colourful stones have been created with special cuts to play up their beauty. And Pastello takes its inspiration from nature, with soft pastel colours and organic styles.
Whatever your style, Bucherer will guarantee the creation of beautiful memories and new heirloom pieces. And when it comes to after care, they offer their generous International Limited Warranty (excluding third party brands), as well as digital Jewellery Care guides, and in-store jewellery cleaning for pearls, diamonds, and gold jewellery.

Transported In Time: Bucherer Certified Pre-Owned
While visiting Bucherer Covent Garden, I also had to flutter over to the Certified Pre-Owned collection. While men’s watches make up the most part of this collection, there were a number of women’s pre-owned timepieces that were too exquisite not to try on!
My favourite from the collection had to be this glitzy Cartier Baignoire, with a dainty white face and gold strap. While gold can sometimes be bold in a watch, this one felt so right once on my wrist! I have a select watch collection and this vintage Cartier would be the jewel in the crown (one day…)
