Have you considered styling activewear as everyday wear? I love to look chic, but often it comes at the cost of being comfortable. Here, I took my favourite Organic Basics pieces and styled them into easy outfits that prioritise comfort while still looking fresh and wearable.
If you’re unfamiliar with Organic Basics*, let me introduce you to one of my favourite basics brands. OB is a carbon-neutral, Copenhagen-based brand where I tend to go for everyday underwear, much of my activewear and everyday essentials. I’ve been running in their activewear for years, and their basics make up much of the foundation of my wardrobe.

1. Everyday Styling: My Active Crop Top

Here’s my first – and favourite – look. In my activewear drawer I have two sports tops – my Active Crop Top* and my Active Sports Bra*. The crop top is new in, but was a trusted choice after wearing my sports bra for over a year. Both are made from a sweat-wicking mix of 57% recycled nylon, 38% nylon, 5% elastane, that’s comfortable on my skin. The Active Crop Top makes for a great transitional piece too, as it is slightly more modest and minimal. My favourite way to wear it on a regular day? With blue washed jeans, a black blazer, and a little attitude.
2. Everyday Styling: My Ribbed T-Shirt & Leggings

Next, let me share a well-guarded secret with you… (I’ve secretly been wearing leggings under my trench coat for the last 6 months and oh god it’s comfy! Shh. Don’t tell.)
Out of all my leggings, my Organic Basics Active Leggings* are my favourites. They’re mid-weight, so just like Goldilocks’ porridge, they’re not too thin, not too thick, they’re just right. They’re absolutely opaque too, which is something I require in all my leggings. Just like my crop top and bra, they’re made from the same sweat-wicking material: 57% recycled nylon, 38% nylon, 5% elastane. And I do like to go for items that include recycled fibres where possible – circular fashion is the future.
When it comes to styling my leggings for everyday wear, I like to pair them with a simple t-shirt or jumper, my trusty trench coat, and a pair of tennis socks* and boots. It’s a nice outfit that doesn’t try too hard, and can be worn anywhere – to the office, to a café, to the market… I especially like this outfit with my grey Rib-Flex T-shirt* that’s made from 100% GOTS organic cotton as it has a slight stretch without any elastane.
3. Activewear Styling: My Essentials

To round-off this post, I wanted to also share my favourite Organic Basics activewear items – many of which I’ve been wearing for years. When it comes to running, my favourite base combination is my Active Sports Bra* and Active Leggings*. As it’s cold out right now, I usually layer these with a merino wool baselayer and light raincoat (both found second-hand) as well as my Active Tennis Socks* to keep my ankles warm. Somedays it’s been so cold it’s felt like my feet were frozen when first hitting the pavement, but these quickly warm up!
In warmer months, I’ll stick to just a simple t-shirt and ankle socks*. If it’s the height of summer, I’ll also switch to my Active Yoga Shorts*, but for the most part my leggings are what I instinctively reach for.
