Summer is my favourite time of the year. It’s hot, it’s bright, and you can wear light, breezy, effortless outfits all day long! My usual summer outfits revolve around a few basic pieces, accessorised with some fussier, feminine styles, and I wanted to share these here with you today in collaboration with Organic Basics!

1. British Beach-Ready
As per restrictions, most of us will be holidaying in the UK this year, and let’s be honest: it doesn’t get that hot! That’s why I love layering up before heading to the beach, and this outfit is a current fave. I’ve paired OB’s TENCEL Woven Shirt in Ochre Stripe with my black ruffle skirt, and cheekily underneath is my RE-SWIM One-Piece and Active Yoga Shorts. This gives me a few options depending on what my friends and I decide to do while at the beach: stay covered up if the sun doesn’t shine; still be dressed appropriately if we rent some bicycles and cycle the promenade; or strip down to my bathing suit if it gets warm enough!
The shirt is the stand-out item for me, as it’s super soft, and made from 100% lyocell TENCEL. As a fabric, it’s got great credentials: the fibre is made from responsibly-sourced wood pulp, dissolved in a closed-loop process with a non-toxic organic solvent. The result is a silky, high quality fabric that’s so nice against my skin, and perfect for summer!
2. Dressed For A Dip!
Ever the optimist, my next outfit is perfect for heading out into the sea! Here in Brighton the sea doesn’t get all that warm, but it makes for a refreshing swim when it’s hot out. I really love swimming and Organic Basics’ RE-SWIM One-Piece is perfect for splashing about without worrying about straps or slips. It’s also made from 78% recycled nylon, taken from pre-consumer textile waste that would otherwise go to the landfill. Circularity at its finest!
3. Casual Summer Evening Outfit
Finally, let’s talk about evening wear. While I might seem quite dressy over on my Instagram, I actually like to dress quite casually on summer evenings. If it’s over 20°C, it’s too hot to faff with steaming clothes or strapping myself into a dress! So this outfit is exactly what I’d go for – a floaty shirt, purposefully left crumpled, and a pair of flattering yet floaty TENCEL Woven Pants. These come with a huge waist and adjustable drawstring that can then be pulled close, or left loose, depending on how you’d like to style them! And as another 100% lyocell TENCEL piece, you can imagine how soft and luxurious they are to wear.
