Summer’s finally here! Summer has to be my favourite season by far; I love the all-day sunshine, the hot sun on my skin, and the extra energy I seem to have.

I also love the variety of outfits I can suddenly wear. My day-to-day uniform of jumper, jeans, and sneakers can evolve into t-shirts, skirts, dresses, shorts, dungarees…

Get the razor out, my legs are finally seeing the light of day!

Adapting My Wardrobe for Summer

When I first started putting this post together, I was going to simply write all about summer style and different outfits you can wear. But it dawned on me that my wardrobe hasn’t really changed, so much as adapated.

In the past, I would keep a bag of clothes hidden away for “summer” during the winter months, and another for “winter” during the summer months. These would be my strappiest tops, or conversely, my snuggliest jumpers.

But as the weather becomes more unpredictable, and my focus on buying less clothing grows, I realised this wasn’t a sustainable way to style myself. I should be wearing 100% of my wardrobe, and making the most of each piece.

5 Ways to Style a T-Shirt

So, in the spirit of loving my clothes – and feeling inspired by Livia Firth on her “30 Wears” idea, where I can only have an item if I know I’ll wear it 30 times – here’s five different ways I style my three favourite white t-shirts. The newest addition to my wardrobe is the It Matters Tee, kindly gifted by Know The Origin.

If you’re thinking “What matters?”, you’ll be pleased to learn that this t-shirt is saying the environment, and our fellow people, matter. That’s been my ethos for some time now, so it’s delightful to wear a t-shirt that shares my values for the environment and social justice.
