If you haven’t already been swept up in the excitement, prepare to be: RMS Beauty has come out with a new line of lipsticks. There’s six to collect, and gosh they’re dreamy.
RMS has always been a hero brand for me – their packaging is luxe, their ingredients pure, and their colour bold! So when I heard about these new lipsticks coming out, I had to give them a go.
The It-Stick
I’ve taken to fondly calling RMS’s Wild With Desire lipsticks it-sticks, because they seem to be the new “it” product in the natural beauty blogging community. There’s good reason: they’re the same high quality that RMS always creates, but the colours are bolder than most.
I’ve been disappointed in the past with a lot of natural and organic lipsticks because they lack the real bright pigments that regular lipsticks have. Every time I opened my makeup box, I would reminisce back to when I had a Kate Moss lipstick in the brightest red, I’m talking pillar box red, with a matt finish and serious staying power.
Finally, I’ve got something better than that.
In the Red
When I chose my lipstick, I went for the brightest one: RMS Red*. Go bold or go home? Upon application, I can report that their signature oil-blend makes it silky smooth to apply, and this red has an orange undertone which works well with my warmer skintone.
I’ve found the best way to apply it is to prime the lips with a lip balm, leave that to soak in and then use a lip brush to gently outline the lips with the lipstick, finally filling in the plump part of your lips. This gives a really great defined line that will last all evening (it certainly did when I wore it on Friday night!) and you just need to apply the lipstick to the fuller part of your lips if you eat or drink, which you can do straight from the bullet.
