After a long, cold winter, I’ve finally emerged in some new sustainable clothes! I’ve kept my small wardrobe at bay for a while now; I didn’t purchase anything other than a coat and two recycled yarn jumpers over the wintry period, but now that the weather is looking up (despite this hurricane wind hurtling through London) I decided to venture outside in these organic cotton pieces.
The blouse** and pinafore dress* are from Thought, the new name for Braintree Clothing. They’re the same people my summer jumpsuit came from, only now they have a fresh, airy new look with contemporary clothing to match. What’s nice to see is while their brand has evolved, their ethics remain the same; using natural, sustainable, and recycled fabrics, they pair modern styles with thoughtful raw materials and a responsible supply chain.
This blouse and dress combination comes straight out of Thought’s new collection, and I have to say I love the two paired together. The dress is light, comfortable, and not too figure-hugging, while the shirt is light and has a soft crepe feel. One thing I would recommend is opting for extra-small sizes if you’re a 6-8, with small being more of a 10-12.
Along with the clothes, I wore my usual Matt and Nat crossbody bag, as I thought the red added a nice pop to the whole outfit (not my usual monotone style!) You can read my full review of the bag and Matt + Nat too here.
For makeup, I also chose a cherry red with RMS Lip Shine in Content and then a soft purple blush nail polish using six-free Maggie Anne nail polish in the colour Jasper. For nail polish junkies, I’d recommend reading my natural nail polish debunking that I wrote a while back…
So, what do you think of Thought? I love the way sustainable brands are really now starting to bloom…
